Kiran Chandra


India

Kiran Chandra grew up in Kolkota, India and currently lives in Brooklyn. She has studied in Delhi and Boston, and has held residencies with Rose Shakinovsky and Claire Gavronsky in Florence, Italy and at Cooper Union in New York. Her work has been included in numerous group exhibitions in the U.S., India and Europe, such as Urban Similes: Transforming the Cities, at Project 88 in Mumbai, and Erasing Borders: Passport to Contemporary Indian Art, curated by Sundaram Tagore in New York. She was one of six artists chosen for the Women's Edge Award, a special program through which art works are selected and awarded to Members of Congress in Washington, D.C. Her works are held at the Boston Public Library and in private collections internationally. Kiran divides her time between Kolkota and Brooklyn.
